Port of Pula

Land Transport and Travel To and From Port Pula
(Pula, Istria, Croatia)

Pula town has many links to other parts of Croatia and beyond. Both rail and bus stations are located in the town and there is an airport as well.

Travel by Bus and Shuttles

From Pula Bus Station, travellers can get to both regional and international destinations. Buses link Croatia with other countries such as Switzerland, France, Germany and Slovakia.

The bus station is a short taxi ride from the port and departures to Zagreb and Slovenia are regular, while long-haul journeys occur once a day.

Car Hire and Road Travel

Pula is well connected by road. If you are travelling by car, use the M2 or E751 to Pula as well as to other major cities in the region. The M2 runs to Zagred, with a journey time of about 90 minutes. There is also a convenient route into Slovenia, onwards to Ljubljana and Trieste.

If you want to explore the area by car, you can book a hire car in Pula town. Booking online in advance is recommended.

Trains and Rail Travel

The rail network links Pula with all major Croatian cities. Direct lines to Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Yugoslavia are also available. The rail service of Croatia is less developed and not too comfortable, buses are a better option.

Car Parking

There is a car park for Pula Port that provides long- and short-stay parking. Both are limited and free, but seldom full. There is additional parking easily available at designated points in the nearby town.

Travel by Taxis

Passengers can find numerous taxis outside of the terminal waiting to take them into town. They usually wait for ferry arrivals, and need to be reminded to use their meters!
